Celebrity Masseur Ashley Fernando!

Ashley Fernando, celebrity masseur, works at Fernando Therapy – London in the winter, and Ocean Beach Club – Ibiza in the summer. We caught up with Ashley in respect of his thoughts on Ibiza, his favourite places and advice for those wishing to make it on the island. He has massaged Joey Essex, Wayne Lineker, Charlie Brooks, even Rosie Huntington Whiteley!

1. Who are you, and what brought you to Ibiza?

Ashley Fernando, celebrity masseur, retreat OBC detox organiser, and DJ. First it was the music, but when I got here I realised there was much more to Ibiza. I loved everyone’s persona and aura, there is something truly special about the island, which is hard to describe.

2. Where’s your favourite place in ibiza and why?

Bennirass and Es Vedra are my two favourite places at the moment. Benirras has a natural hippy vibe that brings everyone together, regardless of whether you’re rich or poor. Es Vedra is beautiful with the beach being so crystal clear, you can definitely feel something, a mysterious energy if you like, being the 3rd most magnetic point on the planet.

3. Do you have any advice for people wanting to make it in Ibiza?

Determination – whatever you’re doing, never stop trying. Just make sure to try and plan as much as you can. I came to Ibiza all the way from London with no connections, it was quite difficult at first, but something on this island made me want to stay, and it had worked out well for me, building myself up from nowhere to being a celebrity masseur and wellness manage at Ocean Beach Club.
